North End Urban Renewal Scheme
The North End Urban Renewal Scheme was written in June 1968 (with an Addendum produced in August 1969) by Murray V. Jones and Associates Limited. At the time, they were hired as “Urban and Regional Consultants” and were working with the City of Hamilton’s Urban Renewal Committee.
The recommendations in these two scheme documents would go on to have a profound impact on Hamilton’s North End and were part of a pattern of urban renewal that significantly changed large parts of downtown Hamilton.
