Map of Water Fountains
This is a combined map of all of the City of Hamilton’s drinking fountains (60) and water bottle filling stations (31), what we’re collectively calling the City’s 91 public water fountains. It might seem like a weird distinction, but the City considers them to be different kinds of infrastructure.
On May 20, 2021 the City of Hamilton tweeted that “staff turned on all bottle fill station water fountains this week” but when researchers checked out the City’s website, there wasn’t a map with locations. After contacting the City, with their help, we were able to map the locations of all 31 water bottle filling stations across the City and have posted them in the map below.
As of June 20, 2021, 28 water bottle filling stations are turned on in the City of Hamilton. The City has confirmed that there are another 3 planned installations and they are indicated in grey on the map.
The locations of the 60 drinking fountains on this map, which are mainly older “bubbler” fountains based on what the City has told us, are taken directly from the map on the City’s website. The City also shared an internal PDF map of water fountains but has not been able to confirm that these fountains are still in operation at this time.
*This resource is up to date as of June 20, 2021. We will update it when the City of Hamilton notifies us of any new installations.
